LabTested helps brands display laboratory results on their storefronts. This page explains what our service does, what it does not do, and where responsibility sits. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.

What LabTested is

LabTested is a software platform. We read certificates of analysis that brands provide, structure the results, and render them as a panel that embeds on a product page. We present results as reported by the testing laboratory.

What LabTested is not

  • We are not a testing laboratory and we do not perform any laboratory analysis.
  • We do not certify, endorse, or guarantee any product.
  • We do not verify a brand's regulatory status or the accuracy of the underlying lab work.

Accredited laboratories

Brands bring their own laboratory. We encourage the use of laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, and the panel can surface the lab's accreditation and the name of the approving director where provided. The accreditation shown reflects information supplied by the brand and its laboratory.

How results are presented

Results reflect laboratory analysis of submitted samples at the time of testing as reported by the testing laboratory. Results do not guarantee future performance, stability, or shelf life. Where context is shown next to a result, such as a safety threshold, it is intended to aid understanding and is not a regulatory determination.

Brand responsibilities

  • Ensuring that uploaded certificates of analysis are authentic and correspond to the product and batch shown.
  • Reviewing and approving every result before it is published. Nothing is published without brand approval.
  • Product labeling, marketing claims, and regulatory compliance, including any applicable FDA, FTC, or local requirements, remain the responsibility of the brand.

Dietary supplement notice

Where products are dietary supplements, statements made by a brand have not necessarily been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Lab results displayed through LabTested are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Tamper evidence

Where available, the panel can display a hash of the underlying certificate of analysis as a tamper-evidence signal. This indicates that the displayed results correspond to a specific source document; it is not an independent audit of that document.
